Frequently Asked Questions
How Can I Help?
Check out the answers to some of my most frequently asked questions below. If there’s something you still need to know or an answer isn’t detailed enough, please get in touch for more information.
What types of health insurance do you accept? What are Superbills?
I do not take insurances!
-
I am 100% cash-based pay (I can provide Superbills, see bullet below)! Evaluations are $150 for a full hour (and often beyond one hour as I love to spend the time my patients need with them) and then $125 for follow-up visits (also a full hour).
-
Superbills are a special invoice you send to your insurance company for reimbursement. I can provide Superbills upon request for those that wish to submit to their insurance for reimbursement. Check with your insurance - you likely have an Out of Network Provider benefit!
-
Payments can be made through cash, check, or credit/debit card.
-
Payments processed by card will be run through my electronic medical records software to maintain HIPAA compliance.
Why cash-based? What is concierge care?
-
I am a cash-based, concierge physical therapy practice so that I can provide the best care possible without having to tailor my care to increase insurance reimbursement - my focus will be 100% on what I believe will best improve your condition.
-
Concierge care is what it sounds - I take care of you! Even outside of appointments I am there for you to contact via phone call, email, or messaging through the patient portal.
-
I am able to spend a full hour (and often more) with you giving you 1-on-1 attention. A typical insurance-based clinic may have to double or triple up on patients seen at the same time and may limit appointments to 30-45 minute encounters.
-
There are potential cost-savings for you! Not only can you submit Superbills I supply you to your insurance for reimbursement provided you have out of network provider benefits, but also with the kind of 1-on-1 attention I can provide you as well as my own personal focus on creating robust but easy-to-adhere-to home exercise programs, you will likely need less visits to regain function and/or decrease pain than a PT clinic that may not have the structure to give you the same kind of individualized attention! (I cannot guarantee any number of visits you will need overall as every condition and person will vary).
What is the new patient procedure?
-
You book yourself into my schedule for a 30 minute phone consultation (free) if you'd like to see if I'm a fit for you or a full evaluation using the "Book Now" option on the main page of this site. I maintain 8:00AM - 5:00PM M-F business hours but can be flexible on occasion if the need arises! Phone consultations especially are more flexible in when they can be done. If the time isn't available on my booking platform, simply email me at prideinmovementpt@gmail.com and we can figure out another time!
-
When I see you, I will do a robust full evaluation of your situation, including any home or other life factors that may be contributing - I look at the whole person, not just a body part - and provide a plan of care tailored to your specific circumstances. Being in the home, I have the benefit of knowing what exercises will and won't be accessible for you to do on your own so I can make sure your entire home exercise program will work for you!
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
-
The simple answer: no!
-
As for the long answer: as long as I determine that your condition does not require further medical attention beyond me you do not need a doctor's referral to seek my services! By Maine state law, if there is no noted improvement within 30 days or if treatment required exceeds 120 days, I will refer you to the appropriate licensed healthcare provider for a referral in that case.
-
A referral may help with insurance reimbursement of Superbills in some cases though this will depend on your insurance plan and you will need to check with your insurance provider for this if you plan on seeking reimbursement to see if they have Out-of-Network Provider benefits. If you do, simply contact your primary care physician and tell them you'd like to see me!
